The Council advises the 教务长 on policies and matters that enhance the quality of instruction and promote student learning. It serves as an advisory committee to the Center for Teaching Excellence (4xwwg.988937.com/cte) to support teaching innovation and other teaching-related initiatives. The Council also oversees the Teaching, Advising and Mentoring 奖助金, Teaching Advising and Mentoring Expense 奖助金, and the Teaching Retreat.
Each professional school is represented on the Council by one faculty member, with three faculty members representing each of the divisions (humanities, 社会科学, natural science /math) of the Morrissey College of Arts and Sciences. 教师 are appointed by the 教务长 on the recommendation of the deans for three-year terms.
